Making Your Business Count

3 Features Your New Trade Show Banner Should Offer

There are a lot of banners on the market that could meet your trade show marketing needs in one way or another, but they aren't all created equal. So it's important to take a close look at the similarities and differences of prospective banner options before deciding which to invest in. You should also look for a few features that will help ensure convenience and satisfaction with your banner purchase as time goes on. Keep the following features in mind while shopping for your new trade show banner:

1. Retraction Capabilities

It's a good idea to make sure that the trade show banner you invest in is not only portable but comes with a retractable stand too. Retraction capabilities will make it easy for you to set up your banner in different places depending on the type of trade show you're attending, what the trade show booth floor plan looks like and how much space you have overall. If your banner doesn't seem to be catching as much attention as you'd like, you can quickly and easily move it without having to take down nails or staples. And a retractable stand will help keep your banner safe from damage as people brush or bump into it while walking by. Your banner likely won't succumb to much wear and tear as time passes either.

2. Customizable Color Schemes

When deciding on a new trade show banner, make sure your choice is customizable in terms of color schemes. Some companies may be limited to using certain colors depending on the type of design you want to be printed and the equipment they have available to them. So just because a company stocks the colors for the scheme you want doesn't mean that all those colors can be implemented into your design. You may have to go with a larger banner or tweak your design that will accommodate your color choices without sacrificing your banner's professional look and feel.

3. At Least One Warranty Option

It is also important to make sure that the banner you invest in comes with some type of warranty. Ideally, you'll have the opportunity to purchase an extended warranty of which you'll have more than one policy type to choose from. But at the very least, your banner should have a basic manufacturer's warranty that will financially protect you against defects and certain problems for a year or so after purchasing it. If extended warranties are available, look for options that offer features such as:

  • An over-the-phone claims process for convenience.

  • A replacement or repair timeline guarantee so you don't have to attend any scheduled trade shows without your banner.

  • A predetermined deductible to avoid future financial surprises.

Ask the company you're buying from to provide you with copies of any warranties they offer on banners you are interested in so you can thoroughly inspect each one before making any long-term decisions.
